Loungecore band Candee Train releases third official music video for their song Forest Ground. First shown last weekend in Kaunas, this video created for the earlier released single, tells a story about girl's corpse in the forest.
Trying something different than in "Smell Your Fingers" or "The Island" video clip making, Candee Train decided to do everything themselves this time: one band member was responsible for filming, another for editing, third one was an actor and so on. This decision was made not only for financial reasons, but for being able to control everything too. A girl's ghost in the forest - it's a visual theme, that should be approached cautiously. One bad move and you end up with a very gothic looking music video, more appropriate for a metal band. Candee Train tried to show death, corpses and ghost in more beautiful, , even slightly sweet looking aesthetic. Music video was shot in three different locations: at Babtyno-Žemaitkiemio manor forest, already moved out Kaunas' Ministry of Fluxus and nearby lawn besides Kaunas' castle. The funniest scene that had been done - hands ripping vocalist's Agnes' dress. "We invited some friends, that wanted to participate. The position in which they had to film was really unpleasant - they had to be on all fours, grab me not seeing anything and at the same time dirt was dripping on their faces. We almost didn't get good shots, because we laughed all the time", - tells Agnė. The band is happy with the result they got, but they do not plan to film any music videos soon. "These days a musician has to be also a manager, a designer and a public relations person all in one. We tried to be music video directors too. It is an interesting activity, but in the future we'd like to have even better results, and that is possible only if everyone does the thing they know the best. That's why we are going to concentrate in music and future album recording for now."

Never afraid to create outside of their studio walls Candee Train and quickly rising rapper Doo from O2 band present their collaboration results - a completely new song "No More Revolutions". Second single of Candee Train's upcoming album is musically a far cry from their first up-tempo hit "Forest Ground" and showcases calmer, more melodic, but emotionally more intense side of candees.
Always influenced by trip hop Candee Train wished to have a song with a rap part in their repertoire. Having finished the instrumental part of this song came long search for a suitable and willing rapper. By a happy coincidence Candee Train and O2 met at one musical competition and this contact helped the song to get it's final form. Lyrics of the song added to the instrumental part. First lyrics were written by candees themselves and they were exploring people's apathy, boredom, indifference. Later joined Doo says that it wasn't too hard for him to adapt: "This theme is very important to me. A lot of people are doing the same, copying and never creating anything new. They don't fight for any ideas, they don't have their own thoughts, they go with masses. There are no revolutions in their minds. We are all becoming vegetables through this." Song was recorded and filmed at "Megasonus" studio in Kaunas, and later mixed by our brilliant producer and friend Exhibitor. LISTEN TO OUR NEW SINGLE HERE! The representatives of loungecore Candee Train released an eight track compilation „Hypnopompic remixes”. Still quite uncommon to the music scene of Lithuania - a remix album through which songs of one band were exposed in various genres. Using the material from the „Hypnopompic” album released in 2012 some of the most talented Lithuanian music producers took the opportunity to add up to this project. Songs like „Copperlosers”, „Smell your fingers” that were successfully broadcasted on the radio, including the unheard track „Kiaušinienė” were once again brought to life by the touch of IJO, Golden Parazyth, NRK1, Exhibitor, Shkema and others.
Frequently getting requests to send samples of one or another song after their gigs the band members got the idea to gather everyone who showed interest and make the album. At the same time it was an opportunity to start new collaborations with other musicians. Trying themselves out in various musical genres the members of Candee Train were supporting the idea that music is boundless and musicians shouldn’t compete but rather be more likely to work together. Some remixes are already being played on the radio moreover the work of IJO was released on vinyl. As the author says: „The song is so beautiful that probably for the first time doing a remix I barely changed it. Usually my remixes end up having like 0.1% of the original.” Already good results happened in the course of collaboration between musicians: Lithuanian producer Exhibitor currently living and working in Great Britain became the producer for the band looking after their new recordings. Candee Train plan to release their second album sometime in autumn also a music video for the recent single „Forest Ground” is being created. (translation by NRK1) LISTEN TO THE TRACKS HERE! |
